Obituary for John Cisero
John Cisero, age 71, of Stratford, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the VA Medical Center, West Haven. Born in Bridgeport October 27, 1941, son of the late James and Barbara Cisero, he was a lifelong Stratford resident and served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a retired machinist for G.E. Bridgeport and developed numerous machine parts during his career. John was a member of the Naval Port 5, Loyal Order of Moose, Sutter Terlizzi American Legion Post 16, VFW Post 9460, First District Improvement Club and Cupheag Bow Hunters where he won the Archery State Championship three times. He was also a professional Taxidermist, an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include a son John Cisero, Jr. and his wife Lauren; a daughter Theresa Cisero; a brother Dominick Cisero and his wife Gerrie, all of Shelton; two sisters Marie Stempert and her husband Jim of Oxford and Barbara Murray and her husband Rich of Waterbury; five grandchildren Amanda, Edward, Cody, Casey and Caileigh; three great grandchildren Reily, Reese and Taegan and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 16 at 10:30 am meeting directly at St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford. Interment with full Military Honors in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Thursday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 pm in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
