Obituary for Louise Vivian (DeLuca) Fudge

Louise Vivian (DeLuca) Fudge, age 96 of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Anthony Fudge, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Bridgeport Hospital. Louise was born November 14, 1926, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Croce and Edith (Nespoli) DeLuca and had been a lifelong area resident.


Louise was married to Tony for 49 years. They enjoyed a life in Stratford with their children followed by a very happy retirement in Florida.


She was a deeply religious woman and a devote Catholic. She stayed strong in her faith despite losing her sight late in life. Her interests included a passion for movies that spanned decades. Also, she loved music of all genres, especially some of the contemporary classics like Bocelli and Pavarotti.


She was predeceased by a brother, Gus Deluca. Survivors include her sister Vivien Fudge of Aventura, FL, three cherished children; Kenneth and Paula Fudge of Jacksonville, FL, Anthony and Sherry Fugia of Stratford, and Laura and Tom Gorman of Stratford; six grandchildren, Matt Fudge, Nick Fudge, Andrew Gorman, Gabrielle Gorman, Laura Anderson and Michelle Anderson; two great grandsons, Hayden and Beckham and many nieces and nephews.


The family would like to give special thanks to Louise’s caregivers, Cindy, Gail, Jodian, Rena & Victoria for their compassionate care.


Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford.


Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.


Friends may visit with the family Thursday before Mass time from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT.
