Obituary for Mary Baker Bishop
Mary (Baker) Bishop, age 71, of Stratford, beloved wife of Kenneth Bishop for 53 years, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, July 2, 2018 with her husband at her side. Mrs. Bishop was born September 17, 1946 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Paul and Rae (Jasmine) Baker and had been a life time area resident.
Mary was a freelance writer having been published online, in several books, magazines, and newspapers including “Better Health”, “Connecticut Magazine”, “Stratford Star”, and “The New York Times”.
She also enjoyed reading, completing Sunday’s “New York Times” crossword puzzles, pizza on Friday nights with her husband, going to lunch with friends and family, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and UCONN Women’s Basketball—Go Huskies!
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her two daughters, Lauren Bove and her husband Joseph and Hadley Spagna and her husband Neil; four grandchildren, Trevor Millward, Sam Bove, Jack Spagna and Sophia Spagna; one brother, Paul Baker; one sister, Pat Musante and several nieces and nephews.
All services will be private.
