Obituary for Patricia Pechillo
Patricia R. (Pat) Pechillo (Bergeron), 78, of Stratford passed peacefully to our Lord on November 24, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after battling a variety of health issues.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Pechillo, Sr. of Stratford. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Reynolds (Pechillo) and Sean Reynolds of Stratford; her sons, Thomas Pechillo, Jr. of Southington and Adam Kilpatrick of Hoboken, NJ; her sister, Gail Lyman of Mayport, PA; her cousin, Helen Lucas of Fairfield; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Pechillo, SND of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews, including Jasmine Joiner. In addition, she is survived by her “grandbabies,” which were a particular source of joy and pride for her: Meghan, Jessica, Matthew and Aidan Reynolds; and Alexandra and Robert Pechillo.
She was predeceased by her mother and step-father, Evelyn and Leonard Schaab, as well as her birth father, George Bergeron.
Pat enjoyed spending summers in Maine as a girl, and developed a lifelong love for music and animals at an early age. As a young woman, Pat was an accomplished accordion player, having performed at numerous world-class venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City before health issues no longer allowed her to play. She was a woman of devout faith, and served as a Eucharistic Minister in Stratford for many years. Pat took pride in nurturing her family, and loved crocheting afghans, sweaters and other items for her family and loved ones. She loved spending time with her family. She especially loved going to Lake Quassapaug in Middlebury, and enjoyed Saturday evenings dancing with her husband and their group of friends, as well as spending time at her sister’s farm in Pennsylvania.
Pat will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial; on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly in Saint James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
Friends may visit with her family on Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
