Obituary for Rachel Shumyhora
Rachel Shumyhora, age 25, of Stratford beloved fiancé of Joseph Penzerro, passed away suddenly Saturday, September 23, 2017.  Rachel was born February 12, 1992 in Bridgeport, daughter of Walter and Susan (Mackbach) Shumyhora and had been a lifetime area resident.Â
Rachel was a graduate of Stratford High School and a waitress at Jimmy’s of Saviin Rock. Rachel always enjoyed a good cup of iced coffee and being silly with her family and friends, but mostly she loved doting on and spending time with her children, who meant the world to her.Â
Survivors, in addition to Joe and her parents, include her three adored children, Alanah, Joe Jr. and Aleeah; sister Jennifer Francis and her husband Dion; brother Justin Shumyhora and his fiancé Heather Cronk; paternal grandmother, Luba Shumyhora; nephew Dante; niece Madelyn and many aunts, uncles and cousins.Â
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly in St. James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.Â
Friends may visit with her family Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.Â
