Obituary for Ruth E. Boemmels
Ruth E. Boemmels, 90, passed away on March 6, 2015. She was born in Stratford on May 2, 1924, daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Goodreau) Roberts. Ruth was married and a dedicated wife for 60 years to the late James J. Boemmels. Having lived in the Bridgeport area her entire life, she was retired from the Bridgeport School System Food Service Program. Ruth’s source of great pride and legacy was caring for others. Ruth loved her family and leaves to grieve two sons, James Boemmels and devoted friend, Janice Dobson of Orange, CT and Keith Boemmels and his wife Deborah of Windsor, CT; grandsons, Victor Boemmels of West Haven, CT, James Boemmels and his wife Leah Dudley Boemmels of Branford, CT, Jason Boemmels of Bristol, CT and Todd Boemmels, and his wife Tara Wayt Boemmels of Portland, OR and beautiful great grandson, Willem. The family invites friends to attend a special graveside and memorial service honoring Ruth’s life on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Union Cemetery, 23 Temple Ct, Stratford, CT. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to CT Chapter American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
