Serving Our Community Since 1951Prior to moving to the United States, Mr. Gorman was a coal mine worker in Armadale, Scotland. He played soccer for Whiterigg FC and was an avid Glascow Celtic Supporter. It was in Scotland where he found the love of his life, Mary, and was married in Caldercruix, Scotland in 1957.
He was a member of the Tartan Social Club, Gaelic American Club, Clan Campbell, and St. Mark's Men League. He was an usher at the 11:00 a.m. mass at St. Mark Church for over 20 years.
Thomas retired from Schick Safety Razor after 35 years. During retirement he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Giants football and English Premier League Soccer. He particularly enjoyed his Friday afternoon lunches with his friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his son Thomas Gorman and his wife Laura of Stratford; two grandchildren, Andrew and Gabrielle Gorman; one sister, Kathleen Rea of Scotland; one brother, Edward Gorman of Scotland; and several nieces and nephews. Thomas will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, for a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
