Obituary for Timothy J. McNamara, Jr.
Timothy Joseph McNamara, Jr., age 87, of Milford, beloved partner of Laura Brice, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 20, 2022. Mr. McNamara was born August 4, 1934, in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Timothy J. McNamara, Sr. and Gelsimina (Savino) McNamara.
Tim was a proud United States Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a retired machinist from Dresser Industries after many years of dedicated service. Tim was also a devoted member of the Tin Can Sailors. He was a sports enthusiast and fierce Detroit fan who enjoyed meeting friends at the Stratford Ale House for many card games and libation. An avid reader, Tim’s favorite novels were writings of Ernest Hemingway. He was a loving, partner, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by his family.
Survivors, in addition to Laura, include his devoted children, Timothy J. McNamara, III of Manchester, CT, Kathleen Radecki (Robert) of Milford, and Debra Quirk of Milford; grandchildren, Christina Mitaly (Michael) of Milford, Kelly Esborn (Tucker) of Branford, and Kimberley Lange (Shane) of Branford; great-granddaughter, Remi Rose Esborn; and sisters, Helen McNamara and Cynthia Nichols (Philip).
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service celebrated by Deacon John Piatak on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615. Friends may visit with the family before service time from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
